More than 100 years ago few Magicians gathered in London and founded a magic club with the name “Magic Circle”. The Magic Circle today, is a premier magical society in the fascinating world of magic and illusion.Royal Mail celebrated the Centenary of the Magic Circle with a set of 5 novelty stamps. Each of them shows a very simple magic trick.
1st class - 'Heads or Tails': the stamp shows a coin the blank centre of which can be scratched away to reveal either the head or reverse side.
The stamp with the denomination of 4pence does the ‘Rabbit and Hat’ trick. You can see the Rabbit going in the Hat when the stamp is brought closer to the nose.
47 pence ‘knotted scarf trick’ stamp Thermo graphic ink on the spotted scarf will reveal a different scarf when warmed.
69 pence stamp shows another optical illusion.
The last stamp of £1.12 shows 'Three-cup trick' variation on the three-cup trick using a pyramid under one of 3 fezzes. Thermo graphic ink reveals which fez the pyramid is under.
